Photo and video search for iPhone and Android
Describe what was in the picture, or the words on a sign. Lutri finds the moment, and does all of it on your phone.
Coming soon to iPhone and Android.
How it worksWhat it finds
You rarely remember a file name or a date. You remember what was in the picture, or a word that was written there. Search with whichever you have, or let Lutri file the dull things for you.
“birthday cake with candles”

Describe what was in it: a birthday cake, a red door, a dog in the snow, or pick a photo from your library to find others like it. Lutri compares it with what each photo shows.
Needs the one-time model download.

Videos are not skipped. Lutri looks at a frame every second, up to 250 a video, so a moment in the middle of a long clip can be the match.
Needs the one-time model download.

Signs, menus, whiteboards, receipts and screenshots. If a picture has words in it, they are read on your phone and can be searched.
Works right away, before the model download.
Receipts, tickets, documents, screenshots, and duplicates gather in your Library without you filing anything.
Works right away, before the model download.
How it works
Allow your whole library, or only the photos you pick. Lutri reads them where they are and never copies, moves or changes one.
File names, dates, text in photos, and collections work right away, as soon as the first 8 moments are read. A one-tap download of the 388 MB on-device visual model adds scene and object search, and automatically indexes your photos in the background, by default while the phone charges.
Results appear as you type, from a private index kept on the phone. Open one, share it, or save the search so new matches gather on their own.
Built to stay private
Many photo apps analyze your pictures on a server. Lutri does the analysis on your phone’s own processor, so your photos and videos are never sent to us or to anyone else to be read.
| What | Does it leave? | What actually happens |
|---|---|---|
| Your photos and videos | Never | Lutri reads them where they are. It does not upload, copy or back them up. |
| What you search for | Never | Searches are matched on the phone. There is no server to send them to. |
| The search index | Never | It is a private file inside the app, kept out of iCloud and Google backups. |
| Purchases | Via the store | The App Store or Google Play takes payment. RevenueCat loads plan options and confirms the plan. It receives a random install ID, the purchase receipt and standard technical details such as an IP address, never your photos. |
| The search model | Downloaded once | One file of about 388 MB comes from Hugging Face. It is checked against a fixed checksum before it is used. |

Questions
Something not here? The support page has how-tos and ways to reach us.
No. Your photos, videos, searches and the search index are not sent anywhere. There is no account and no server that receives them. Beyond that, the app goes online only to confirm or restore a plan, and to download the search model once. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what is sent.
Yes. Once the model has been downloaded, searching by what is in a picture works in airplane mode, and so does searching the text in photos. Searching text and file names works even before the download. A connection is needed only to download the model, and to buy, restore or re-check a plan.
It is the on-device engine that understands pictures: about 388 MB, downloaded once from Hugging Face and checked against a fixed SHA-256 checksum before it is used. Keeping it separate lets the app install quickly from the store, while file names, dates, text in photos, and collections work right away. Tap Download on the Search screen, on the Indexing screen, or in Settings whenever you are on Wi-Fi: a live progress bar shows the download, and as soon as it finishes, Lutri automatically indexes your photos for scenes and objects in the background on your phone’s own processor.
iPhones with iOS 18 or later, and Android phones with Android 14 or later.
The free version indexes up to 150 photos and videos and shows the top 25 results for each search. The full version has no limit on either. A large library is indexed gradually in the background, by default while the phone charges, so it never gets in your way.
No. Lutri only reads your library. It never edits, moves or deletes anything. Clearing the search index in Settings removes Lutri’s own index and previews, and your photos stay where they are.
Yes, without a countdown. The free version is a real app: an instant demo with sample photos, and a full index of your 150 newest photos and videos.
One payment of $24.99 and no renewal. It unlocks every feature of the full version for as long as Lutri is offered for your type of phone; it does not cover anything we may sell separately in the future, and the Terms of Use explain exactly what it covers. If you change phones, open Settings and tap Restore purchases, signed in to the same Apple Account or Google account you bought with.
Results, text recognition, and collections are approximate, so it can miss a photo, misread a receipt total, or rank one badly. It does not turn speech into text. It cannot tell people apart across photos. We state these limits upfront so you know what to expect. On Android, voice memos can be added and are found by their file names.
Free to start. No account. Your photos stay on your phone.
